Riffraff Diesel Billet Compressor Wheel 94-03

We are now offering our 2nd Generation performance billet compressor wheels for the 94-03 7.3L Powerstrokes. This wheel provides more than just anti-surge like the standard Borg Warner aka Whistlin' Wheel, Anti-Surge Wheel, Banks Wheel and other 5/5 blade compressor wheels. Because of its lighter mass it spools faster, while providing more CFM flow and boost pressure. We usually see a 5-7 PSI gain in boost, as well as less smoke, better drivability and quicker response. By incorporating new leading edge technology, metallurgy, and the new 4/4 blade design we are seeing an average of 17.4 hp and 38.7tq gain on stock injectors with just a swap of the wheel. We recommend balancing the rotating assembly if available, though the wheel is already dual plane balanced.

Fitment: 1994-2003 stock TP38/GTP38 including van turbo

Wish I had purchased this compressor wheel sooner!

Woke up my ol' 7.3 significantly for just a simple compressor wheel swap. Quality and precision piece, awesome bang for the buck! Better throttle response, power and improvement in boost you can feel. Installed gauges right after the wheel and seeing 19lbs of boost on factory tuning. Great performance upgrade that I wont have to remove for smog.. Gave my turbo the whistle I was hoping for, quiet while cruising but really comes to life when you put your foot in it. Even made the wife grin!

    Nice.....

As with all Riffraff products, a quality piece. Noticeable improvements; no lag, and big increase in performance from mid-range on up. Don't notice a 'whistle', possibly my hearing :-), but the sound is different (good) and noticeable especially from about 1500 rpm and up. Looking forward to towing a load.

Improvement over stock wheel. Early 99 7.3L

Posted by JP on Nov 20th 2017

First off if you are unlucky to have the early 99 7.3l like me your in for a job.... I thought this replacement was going to go real easy from what I had seen in videos but if you have the early 99, the bolt pattern is different on the compressor. We have a 4 bolt compressor vs the 5 bolt. You ask why that matters, well the 4 bolt has the bolts at the sides and top , bottom. You can't get to the bottom one without pulling the turbo off the pedistal. A 20 minute job took about 2 hours. With that said, I noticed a quicker spool of the turbo, more lower end power and around 4 more psi on the boost. Definitely an improvement over the stock wheel.

    This thing is sweet!

Almost too pretty to install but I went ahead and put it on my turbo anyway and oh baby! This thing spools faster, sounds meaner and moves more air than the stock wheel. What's not to like about that? Between this and the EBPV delete I did, I picked up 3-4 PSI at 3000 RPM with this wheel over the stock one. What's not to like!?

    Boost and no lag

I am coming from my last truck having a wicked wheel. I think this wheel blows it out of the water and I feel that my truck spools up faster and is much louder. It sounds great and was one of my first mods done.

Cant say enough good things about this thing, wasnt sure if it would be worth the money but it is. Quite a bit more mid range power and and sounds cooler if your into the turbo whistle thing. I would strongly recommend this to anyone with a stroke.

    great find

Clay twisted my arm a bit, and I ended up purchasing this wheel in lieu of the anti-surge wheel (thanks Clay). I paired this wheel with the IH up pipe kit and the banks wastegate actuator. I've gotta say that I am very pleased. I've just gotten the vehicle back together and have only taken it for a short drive. Throttle response is crisp, turbo spool occurs at a much lower RPM, solid power across the rpm band, and the "surge" is gone. Can't wait to see wow the truck performs when towing. Thank you Riffraff.

    Well worth it!

Picked one up, along with a ebpv delete, intake and rebuild kit. Truck spools much quicker, less smoke, and picked up quite a bit of power as well. Sounds and performs great!
