This 30 amp fuse also powers the ECM and the truck will not start without it. You can temporarly get by with unplugging the electrical connector from the fuel bowl and replace the 30amp fuse until your new heating element arrives.

  1. Definite improvement over the old style element. 5 Star Review

International factory part; recently replaced this on my 95 PSD, this will definitely fit the old style “tall” fuel bowl found in the OBS Powerstrokes. Remember the fuel filter stem is LEFT HAND THREAD; fairly simple to install; “tall style” housing will not need the screws, and the heater element will have to be indexed at a certain position to clear a casting nub inside the bowl. Improved fuel, and economy and way better cold starts. Arrived fast, best price around for factory part! GOOD JOB RIFF RAFF.

  2. Great Product!! 5 Star Review

The heating element was an International labeled product. Very robust compared to the original part from 1999. Easy to install and works great.

  3. Definite Upgrade From The Stock Heater Element!!! 5 Star Review

Posted by on Aug 18th 2016

I had the fuel bowl out of my '99 Powerstroke to clean it up and replace the o-rings with viton and fluorosilicone components from RiffRaff and discovered that the only thing holding my old element together was one weld/solder joint and the gunk accumulated from the fuel bowl. Lucky for me I discovered this because if it would have shorted out who knows how long it would have taken to track down the problem after the truck quit! This new element is way beefier than the stock part and doesn't look like it would be subject to the same shorting issues prevalent with the old style elements.

Highly recommended component for replacement or upgrade, and as usual, got the part quickly with no hassle!

Very happy, great oem replacement, it was even the updated version , and the price was way lower then anywhere else I checked.

  5. Better design than the original 5 Star Review

My heater was shorting to the fuel bowl and causing some issues with the PCM. Looks like this must have been fairly common because ford changed their design for this one. Great OEM part with a better design than the original.

  9. Much Better Product Than The Original! 5 Star Review

Posted by on May 15th 2014

This heater element is a much better design than the one that came from the factory in my early 1999 7.3 Powerstroke. If you have one of the old welded kind that has come loose or the welds have broken, then you need one of these to replace it!
