Original had burned out. This one is nice and heavy duty. Glad there's a site that has all the parts I needed! Thank you!

    99-03 Fuel bowl heater element

Posted by Glen H on Oct 20th 2021

One morning, after the first cold night of the fall, I had a no start on my 99 7.3l truck. My fuel bowl heater element had failed, and because it was cold enough to need it, when it tried to heat the fuel bowl it blew the fuse. That same fuse provides power to the PCM, and so I experienced a no start situation. I disconnected the fuel bowl heater, replaced the fuse and was able to start the truck. While it was warming, I logged in to Riffraff Diesel and ordered a new fb heater element. As always, the replacement part came quickly, fit properly and was a great price. 10 to 15 minute repair, and a good chance to replace that fuel filter while you're in there. Good to go now for the winter.

    Fuel Bowl heater

Posted by Scott on Mar 29th 2021

Cleaned the bowl and found rust, crud, and broken pieces of the stock heater element at the bottom. The heater was also unplugged by the original owner. After everything was spotless, I plugged this in and screwed it down. Works perfect with no blown fuses. Thanks Riff Raff.

So easy my 12 year old did it

Exactly what I needed when fuse 30 popped and my truck saw fit to stop on the road. After some troubleshooting identifying the problem I ordered the element and had it the same week. I had my boy under the hood to fix it in about 30 minutes.
