Riffraff Diesel Coolant Filtration System / Filter Kit 99-03 F-Series 7.3L Powerstroke

The Riffraff Diesel coolant filtration system for the Ford 7.3L Powerstroke filters a small amount of coolant with each pass. The Donaldson spin on the filter makes it easy and inexpensive to change coolant as often as you need. Plus, the filters also remove all solid particles. Typically you will use three filters in the first nine months. Once the initial nine months has passed, you will only need to change the filter once a year.

Includes:

  • 1 Donaldson Coolant Filter
  • Billet Aluminum & Anodized Coolant Filter Assembly
  • Made in the USA Coolant Hoses with Nickle Plated Fittings
  • Custom USA Made Stainless Ball Valves
  • All Hose Clamps & Hardware for Installation
  • 100% Made In The USA

    Quality Filter Kit

Really can't say enough on the quality of this kit. From the valves, and hoses, to the filter and billet head. All made in the USA, and all fit perfectly.

    Excellent product

Very well made product. Should last the life of the truck. My only complaint is to replace the lower hose, you would have to disassemble the entire kit when installing the new hose because the connections don’t swivel or clamp connect, they’re just threaded.

Easy install great add on for a high mileage motor to keep it clean. Every thing else has a filter on it so should the coolant!

Got this for my 01 7.3L and couldn’t be happier with the quality and function of this kit by Riffraff. Everything fit perfectly and looks great. I have an S&B air filter kit and had no issues with clearances or rubbing against the filter box. More than pleased with this product.

    Can’t go wrong with riffraff!

Every time I buy a riffraff diesel product for my 7.3 power stroke I am always pleased. You can tell these kits aren’t designed by some engineer who has never worked on a truck before. Kit is very well thought out and the figment is amazing. The quality of the billet filter housing is second to none, I am a machinist and these are machined beautifully. My 250k cooling system really needed a little love and after seeing the crap come out of it I immediately ordered this filter kit. Get yourself an extra couple of filters because if your coolant looks anything like mine did you will need them in the first month or two. I changed mine after a month(around 5k miles) and when I cut the filter open it was filled with sediment and gunk. Do your truck a favor and buy this kit.

Fit like a glove. Very impressive with the fit an finish of this filter system. Looking forward to cutting the first filter open and seeing all that slag iron from the block.

Great quality. Filter base hose ends should be AN fittings for future maintenance or ease of removal. ( installed it then water pump failed)

Good, but a few simple changes would make it great

Posted by One Sock on Mar 26th 2021

I ordered one of these in green, and it looks nice and seems to work well. I just think the kit could be greatly improved with a few simple modifications, as follows:

    1. I found it impossible to make the hose thread in straight in the water pump port until I unbolted the alternator/PS bracket and pushed it out of the way. If the kit could include a slightly angled fitting to put in the water pump port, and then the hose onto the fitting, it would have made the install much easier.

    2. I had to trim the battery cover very slightly with a utility knife to make room for the filter. Not a big deal, and it didn’t make a hole in the battery box; but it looks to me that if the bracket was redesigned to move the filter just ¼ inch toward the passenger side the filter would fit with no interference anywhere.

    3. After I finished installing the kit, I was concerned that the water pump-to-filter hose would vibrate back and forth and hit the drivebelt. I drilled a hole in the alt/PS bracket and secured the hose with a rubber insulated steel cable clamp (adel clamp). I also put a piece of wiring loom on the hose to prevent chafe. Luckily I had some loom and one spare adel clamp of the right size sitting around; otherwise I would have had to go all the way into town for parts. Hey Riffraff, how about including these things in the kit?
