The Riffraff Diesel coolant filtration system for the Ford 7.3L Powerstroke filters a small amount of coolant with each pass. The Donaldson spin on the filter makes it easy and inexpensive to change coolant as often as you need. Plus, the filters also remove all solid particles. Typically you will use three filters in the first nine months. Once the initial nine months has passed, you will only need to change the filter once a year.

Would have been 5 stars but the pre-made lines that come with the kit are a pain to install. The reason they are a pain is because the fittings on the lines do not rotate and make install onto the filter housing difficult.
Fits and looks fantastic. Very easy to install and everything fit perfect.
Easy install just watch your hose routing near the serpentine belt.
First off the quality of this product is great! I was doing a coolant flush do to a bunch of junk in my system so I figured this would keep it clean. Everything is included in this kit right down to the thread sealant. If you are unsure how to install it, there is instructions you can look up on this page. The hardest part of the install is getting the old plug out of the water pump housing. The hoses do not have swivel ends on them so I ended up threading the water pump hose end in first, then to the filter base then mounted it to the truck. The other hose ties into the degas bottle hose so I first threaded into the base and lined up the T with the hose on the other end. After a week installed everything is holding up great. Be sure to get plenty of spare filters and change often to start.
Impressed with the quality of the hoses compared to other kits of similar price. The hose with the "T" at the end was delivered slightly damaged(part of the T was crushed), I received a replacement shortly after with no problems at all. No leaks on first try. Flushed system with Rotella ELC after I bought the truck, looking forward to the added protection.

Great product. I offer a couple of tips from my install.
First, you really must crank the NPT shutoff valve fittings much farther into the filter head than feels right and use plenty of thread sealer or eventually they will leak. They must stop turning/bottom out when using a fair (not gorilla) amount of tightening force before they will properly seal.
Second, I opted to use a length of heater hose clamped to two standard beaded hose fittings (not barbed fittings) threaded into the female NPT outlet in the thermostat housing neck and the shutoff valve inlet entering the filter head. This allows the hose to be easily removed and replaced at either the water pump outlet and/or filter head without having to disturb any NPT fittings in the process. Seemed to make sense since NPT fittings don't necessarily like to be removed and retorqued.
While I was flushing my radiator to change the coolant I found there was alot of sediment floating around in the radiator. This kit went on quick and easy with no surprises. Another high quality product.
