Riffraff Diesel 7.3L Powerstroke Injector Cup / Sleeve Tool Set 94-03

Brand New Patented Design!

We have refined our injector cup/sleeve tools over the last 12 years, using them ourselves and as rental units, and we have now been awarded patents on their design and released them to production. These tools were designed for 7.3L gearheads by 7.3L gearheads.

Unlike our competitors’ cup tools, our design is engineered for efficient, repeated shop use removing and installing the injector cups. We believe removing and installing the injector cups should be a more surgical operation, not something requiring beating cups in with hammers and leaving brass filings from the removal process behind. Thus we have designed our tools with tight tolerances and clean injector bores in mind.

Since we utilize the latest in metallurgical and coating technology it allows us to thread our removal tool into the damaged injector cup without creating any filings or chips to fall into your cylinders. Both our puller and installation tool use bridges that are quickly fastened to the injector mounting holes, eliminating the need to remove your rocker arms and allowing for a faster overall job.

Our Patented install tool is really the breakthrough; rather than hammering on your new cups in tight spaces and hoping they are seated, simply use a socket and allow the tool to press the cup in. The tool allows for a completely seated cup every time; no guessing and no hammering, even on the back cylinders or e-series vans. To ensure our install tool doesn't deform your new cup as our competitors’ tools do, it is machined to engage both the full surface of the cup bottom and the top lip. The tool also features an o-ring as a keeper to allow strategic placement of the cup in the injector bore instead of dropping it in and risking displacement of your sealant. In order to allow the cup to seat without turning in the head, the install tool is engineered to include a ball bearing to prevent cup rotation while being pressed in. All hardware has been coated for rust resistance as well as to achieve a Rockwell hardness of over 62 to ensure a long life.

So easy, a caveman could do it!

Posted by Ryan on Oct 23rd 2015

I've replaced many sets of injector cups on larger vocational engines. It usually involved a huge mess from cutting threads, and beating the cups, hoping they are square and didn't rebound up from their seated position on the last swing, or sketchy looking swedging tools that look like they're going to break off and drop into the cylinder. This was my first PowerStroke injector cup job, and it was a breeze. Virtually no mess from puller, and the installer centers up beautifully in the injector bore. Torquing the pressure screw, instead of beating on a mandrel, gives a consistent, confident installation every time. This job was on my pickup, and I had plenty of room for tooling up against the HVAC box. The directions are available on line, and are easy to follow. (BE SURE TO FOLLOW THEM TO A "T", ESPECIALLY THE PART ABOUT 1-2 TURNS ON THE REMOVER) I was quoted what the labor was going to be get the cups replaced, $400 for tooling versus $800-$900 for labor, made my decision pretty easy. My hats off to Riffraff, this is a highly-functional, economical easy to use tool. My professional opinion is this aftermarket tool is much higher quality than what the dealers are using.

As one reviewer has already mentioned, drop a penny in the cup before you start the removal process to keep debris out of the cylinder.

    Great product

The Injector sleeve removal and installation tool works perfectly. It has already paid for itself. The labor charges alone at a shop would have cost me more money. If you are mechanically inclined at all you can use this tool.

    Works amazingly easy!

I was a little skeptical because of the room there are in the vans with the 7.3 PSD but wow is all I can say about how easy they are to remove and install with the heads in the van. I would say it's harder to remove injectors then removing and installing new cups. And the customer support is phenomenal to say the least. Thank you very much clay for all your help.

    Very well made

I was using a homemade tool to do injector cups and it ended up damaging the cup more than actually working. I was stuck since the truck is my daily driver and I have 2 little ones I have to take places. I bought this and had it overnighted. Oh man was it easy to use! The project flew once I got this tool. Highly recommend getting one if you plan on having a 7.3 for a while.

Makes even a novice a pro!

Very well crafted tool set quality only hurts once! Once you get a feel for the tool it goes very quickly the cups remove and replace easily.

I liked being able to crank them down to a measured torque to ensure uniform and correctly installed cups the first time every time. It gave me the confidence to tackle the job myself and know that I had it done right the first time.

Heck even with the purchase of this tool set it was still cheaper for me to do it myself even if I only use the tool this one time it has paid for itself.

Not much I can say that the others have already said!

    Works Like A Dream

A must have for doing injector cups on a 7.3 ~ works better than all the rest. If your looking at this tool buy it. I still recommend you put a penny down in the old cup before pulling it ~ just for good measure.

    THE BEST!

Posted by Unknown on Jun 19th 2015

I have used other "rental" pullers and installers in the past, but when a good friends 7.3 leaked, I researched and bought this one.
What a great purchase! This tool rocks!, precision made, looks like some almost overkill quality and machining my tool and die dad would have made, works so good in vehicle, don't purchase other crap, get this thing, even the packaging is quality. Makes it too easy.

    Works as intended.

Removed and installed cups with no problem. Took a couple cups to get the hang of removing it from tool. I put tool in vise and removed with channel locks. Would recommend it to anyone. Thanks for the great product.
