I threw this in a obs van i say obs as the motor is a 97 manufacture date same as my 97 truck had the mechanical fuel pump and all, the rebuild is easy just follow instructions and have a brass and plastic hammer handy and use pb blaster as you will be beating the hell out of you exhaust housing to get it to come apart. My compressor housing was rtvd on so that was tricky too, brass drift came i. Handy there also as others have said get your self a few bags of the bolts as well get a new heat shield also but im getting consistently. About 2-4 psi over stock without tunes

Decided to do a turbo rebuild while fixing a pedestal leak. Turbo lag was greatly decreased. A slight change in whistle but not too noticeable. Lowered EGT's significantly with no tunes. I did shear off a socket adapter, a bolt, and an a bolt extractor. If I was to do this again I probably would first disassemble and then order the kit, but I still ended up better off with the rebuild kit rather than a new turbo assembly.

The DIY kit is easy to install and works amazing. wakes up the turbo for these trucks on a budget. Would be a 5 star but received the wrong assembly for my application (Early 99). Going through Riffraff customer service wasn't that helpful, ended up going directly to KC turbo for help. I have never had an issue with Riffraff and still use them so it could have been a 1 off issue.

Starts spooling about 1400 rpm. I have a manual trans, really helps towing and has Great boost 29lbs on tow mode up grades. About 36lbs on performance

After it's all said and done. I'm content and smiling ear to ear. Love the sound!

after 1 hr. drive the turbo bound up due to play in bushings . was pre lubed during assembly .

I put this in after mine got damaged. I have a 1.0 A/R housing and all I can say is WOW. I was getting 13-14 MPG before and today I got 20! The power is way up and my boost starts around 1400! there is literally no lag whatsoever. when you step on it, its there. if you are debating on weather to get this dont hesitate. Is well worth it.

This replaced my billet WW. I can say it is AMAZING! It boosts at 1400RPM, and I literally have no lag whatsoever! quality parts and service. I have it in a 1.0A/R exhaust housing and it fit great.
