Motorcraft Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor 97-04 Ford 6.0L / 7.3L

The PCM uses data supplied by the EBP Sensor to determine the fuel requirements at any given time while the truck is running. A bad EPB sensor can cause sluggish performance buy signaling the EBP valve at the turbo outlet to close at times that it should not close. A defective EBP sensor can also contribute to poor mileage.

Fitment: 97-03 7.3L and 03-04 6.0L

Supersedes: F7TZ-9J460-AA , 3C3Z-9J460-AA

Production Date 11/04/2004 and Before

throwing 470 and 478 codes, took this system apart to clean, not an option, it took ten minutes to replace manifold fitting, tube, and ebp sensor, and about two hours to clean the housing on the block, my wife saw my frustration and said why don't you use your gun cleaning kit, sweet idea, took a brass rod and several different brass brushes stuck the rod in my drill and cleaned the housing perfect, my truck seems to run smoother, and breath better

OEM Motorcraft, really woke my truck up

Posted by Kenny on Mar 12th 2018

This sensor here is OEM motorfraft part. My old one was completely clogged. I didn’t want to risk messing it up trying to clean it. Just replaced it and it really woke my truck up. Shifts are smoother and timed better. Little more pep in the seat of the pants. Definitely worth the money

OEM Ford part, it's a sensor so there's not much that can be said other than it works.

    Great OEM replacement

My original EBP sensor was completely clogged. I may have been able to clean it out and reuse it, but the chances of doing that and still have a failed sensor was too great to chance having to wait another week for a new sensor. The whole swap of tube, sensor, and manifold fitting took about 2 hours...about 1:45 of which was spent cleaning out the sensor bracket.

    GREAT PRICE AND GREAT PRODUCT

I purchased this for my 1997 7.3 Powerstroke and what a difference. Motorcraft is the best brand to buy hands down. Aftermarket generic brands from other places are cheap and never last. BUY AMERICAN!!! BUY MOTORCRAFT!!! Great price and great quality.
