The 7.3 Powerstroke fuel filter is one of the cheapest parts on the truck, but it protects one of the most expensive systems. A restricted or poor-quality filter can reduce fuel pressure, cause rough running, misfires, low power, and eventually shorten injector life.

We highly recomend sticking with what Ford designed the fuel bowl to fit, using the same OEM supplier Ford relied on from the factory. Racor made them for Ford, for every 1994-2003 7.3L Powerstroke. Common problems a new correct fuel filter can solve

A restricted or poorly sealing fuel filter can contribute to:

• Low power
• Rough idle
• Misfires
• Poor throttle response

Install

Drain the fuel bowl, remove the old filter, inspect and clean the bowl, lubricate the new seals with clean fuel or engine oil, seat the filter fully, reinstall the cap by hand, prime the system, then check carefully for leaks. There is no need to overtighten the cap.
