*Ceramic Coating Details -

The Turbo Black ceramic was formulated for exhaust temps up to 2000*F and will hold in at least 60% of the heat from radiating out under your hood. Not all black coatings will achieve that function. These coatings have been specifically formulated for use on military aircraft.

By retaining the heat energy your turbo will spool up faster and more efficiently. We double coat the outside of the housing to protect it from rusting and it results in a much longer attractive finish while retaining heat. The two main functions of the coating is appearance and function longevity of your engine parts and gaining a more efficient running engine.

Please Note: We have head rumors of "knock-off" Garrett turbos being sold at very low prices.  We may be more than other companies but you can rest assured we get them directly from Garrett unlike many other resellers.

The GTP38R turbo is great truck a lot quicker and only have to feather and had lots of power also got RiffRaffs boot kit intake heater delete plug and they have the best prices nobody else could beat the price on turbo my Truck is 2001 250 other mods on it is diamond 4 inch diamond eye exhaust ,TYMAR cold air intake,&TS 6 position chip with the informant

  2. One of the best aftermarket upgrade to date 5 Star Review

Posted by on Mar 23rd 2016

I have a dp tuner, regulated fuel return, 4" exhaust turbo back, cold air intake, and factory injectors.

Before I had the stock turbo with a WW and now with the 38r I have a lot more torque espically at and above the 1800 RPM mark. I read about how loud they were but it is very close to the factory turbo with a wicked wheel.

As far as boost levels go I seeing a max of 32psi and big drop in EGTs. I wil only hit 1000 degrees (unloaded) if I am on a long hill and lugging in OD. I did get the ceramic coated up pipes and had the turbo ceramic coated as well. I don't know if that is why I am seeing higher than average boost numbers but I love it.

I would recommend a cold air intake first. It will let your new turbo breath and give you something to hook the new 4" boot to.

  3. Great! 5 Star Review

    Riffraff is the best.

  4. 38R Turbo Upgrade and Install:) 4 Star Review

Posted by on Mar 10th 2016

Turbo was very easy to install and made a noticeable amount of additional power with the Dp-tuner set on modified stock with Stage 1.5s. My only complaint was that this turbo should be sent with the additional 4in pipe that installes between the boot or hose they supply and the factory intake. Other than that I can't wait to run down some Dodges:)

  5. Great Turbo 5 Star Review

Posted by on Jan 31st 2016

I bought this turbo to replace my stock one back in November and has been great ever since. Spools up fast, sounds like a jet engine, and less smoke. Only issue I had was the intake boot was a little long but I made it work. This is a great turbo!! Oh and check your up pipes, much easier to change while your switching turbos.

  6. Awesome Turbo!!! 5 Star Review

Posted by on Jan 18th 2016

This was a great addition to my truck. It just runs so much better, I can't wait to pull my 5th wheel. Had stock turbo w/Banks 1.0 AR housing, ATS compressor housing and Wicked Wheel. No comparison!
Sounds like jet plane! Also EGT's down, power up, less smoke!
I got ceramic coated turbine housing, love it!
The turbo is all around top quality. Comes with everything for install!
Check your up-pipes before doing turbo, much easier to do while turbo is out.

  7. WOW 5 Star Review

Posted by on Jan 13th 2016

Bought this to replace my stock turbo that seized after 13 years and 297,000 miles. Also bought the billet wheel to replace the stock wheel. This thing screams like there is no tomorrow. Paired up with EBPV delete pedestal, 4" exhaust and new intake my truck runs like a champ.

  8. Intake hose 4 Star Review

Posted by on Dec 25th 2015

Intake hose that is supplied is 1/2 inch too long other than that its a great product

  9. So far so good. Quick spool thankfully and not too loud. 5 Star Review

Posted by on Nov 25th 2015

After reading several reviews on this terrible I was worried it was going to be too noisy. It has been great noise level wise. I installed a wicked wheel two which was supposed to help spool time and noise levels. It has been great so far and I couldn't be more pleased.

Riffraff shipped it immediately along with my International Up Pipes which are also great quality.

Both of these products were high quality and a great addition to my 7.3.

You won't regret purchasing either of these products from Riffraff.

  10. Worth it, 4 Star Review

Posted by on Oct 31st 2015

Excellent experience with Riffraff and a product that was what I was expecting. The 38r completed the other upgrades done to my 7.3. I now have a truck that pulls a heavy load with ease and is a blast to drive. No need to spend $60k on a new truck just to get a smogged out dog.
