*Ceramic Coating Details -
The Turbo Black ceramic was formulated for exhaust temps up to 2000*F and will hold in at least 60% of the heat from radiating out under your hood. Not all black coatings will achieve that function. These coatings have been specifically formulated for use on military aircraft.
By retaining the heat energy your turbo will spool up faster and more efficiently. We double coat the outside of the housing to protect it from rusting and it results in a much longer attractive finish while retaining heat. The two main functions of the coating is appearance and function longevity of your engine parts and gaining a more efficient running engine.
Please Note: We have head rumors of "knock-off" Garrett turbos being sold at very low prices. We may be more than other companies but you can rest assured we get them directly from Garrett unlike many other resellers.

All these 5 stars and great reviews convinced me to purchase the 38r, but I gotta say I'm not happy.
My truck lost it's low-end kick, that used to pull you back in the seat! I was running the stock turbo with the ATS compressor housing. Stock turbo was running 3-5 psi boost @ 50 mph with the cruise on flat ground. Now it's not even boosting @ 65 going up an overpass...falling flat on it's face! Was hitting 30-35 psi max with wide-open-throttle too, but now not even half that. Top end speed is a lot higher, but top-end doesn't kick a Camaro's azz at a traffic light, or pull a dump-trailer full of stone! I gave it 3 stars cause the reliability of the ball-bearings.

I received the turbo and did the install. I did a lot of research in a turbo replacement for my stock F550 flatbed wrecker and needed a reliable update with better performance. The GTP38R I feel fit the needs and are pleased with the performance of my truck. The product was a direct replacement and had all of what I needed to complete the job and a nice addition to my truck...

I am very pleased with this new turbo I have stock injectors and it still works great quick spool up fits well only issues I had
1 adjust the waste gate BEFORE installing turbo you will thank yourself...
2 silicone boot was to long didn't fit the greatest but it does seal up well
3 the kit should come with a extra 4 inch clamp for the silicone boot I didn't feel stock hose clamp was best choice lucky I had a extra boost clamp like the one in the kit
But over all I am very pleased with the kit and id recommend it to anyone wanting a better turbo

I have a dp tuner, regulated fuel return, 4" exhaust turbo back, cold air intake, and factory injectors.
Before I had the stock turbo with a WW and now with the 38r I have a lot more torque espically at and above the 1800 RPM mark. I read about how loud they were but it is very close to the factory turbo with a wicked wheel.
As far as boost levels go I seeing a max of 32psi and big drop in EGTs. I wil only hit 1000 degrees (unloaded) if I am on a long hill and lugging in OD. I did get the ceramic coated up pipes and had the turbo ceramic coated as well. I don't know if that is why I am seeing higher than average boost numbers but I love it.
I would recommend a cold air intake first. It will let your new turbo breath and give you something to hook the new 4" boot to.

Riffraff is the best.

Turbo was very easy to install and made a noticeable amount of additional power with the Dp-tuner set on modified stock with Stage 1.5s. My only complaint was that this turbo should be sent with the additional 4in pipe that installes between the boot or hose they supply and the factory intake. Other than that I can't wait to run down some Dodges:)
