    Required different turbo mounting bolts

Posted by ASA JAY LAUGHTON on Mar 3rd 2025

This is a beautiful piece of machining, and it deletes the EBPV, which on my truck was apparently leaking profusely and most things I read said it was worth deleting.

I subtracted one star because I had to purchase new bolts to mount the turbo, because the originals were too long.

I have a 1994.5 F250 with the Navistar T444E Powerstroke. The turbo is mounted with four bolts all the same length. That length is -not- what is needed for this pedestal.

The bolts mount from the bottom and the pedestal bottom is machined on two levels. This required ordering two different length bolts to properly fit.. It may be that other stock pedestals are different. Here is the detailed information on what bolts were needed in my case:

    ARP 771-1015 M8 x 1.25 x 100 12pt SS bolts
    ARP 771-1018 M8 x 1.25 x 85 12pt SS bolts

The unfortunate thing is that these come in packs of five and I only needed two of each. Once installed properly, everything fit very well. The pedestal mounted to the engine just fine and the collector and up-pipes all bolted up nicely.

The pedestal replicates the same height as the original, it just needed different length bolts due to how the bottom of the pedestal is machined.

Good quality, turbo drain and feed holes line up good and all the bolt holes lined up good too. Just have to remember to put sealant on the feed plug on the back or youll have a leak like i did

    Needed to modify stock bolts

The stock bolts going into the turbo did not fit the new pedestal. They were too long and had to be shortened. Two had to be shortened significantly more than the other two. Otherwise the pedestal was a good fit. If RiffRaff had recommended a new set of bolts for this pedestal, I would have bought it.

    Great product

The turbo pedestal feels like a quality product. The only issue I had is that 2 bolts that held my turbo to my original pedestal were tool long due to the fact the new turbo pedestal is shaped differently that the oem one so you’ll likely need 2 shorter bolts to install.

Awesome product from Riffraff, looks good and everything bolted up like it should. I didn't realize it doesn't come with mounting bolts until I went to install it so you will want to order some. Riffraff Diesel is my go to place for all my 7.3 Powerstroke needs, Clay always gets right back to me with any questions. Thank you Clay and everyone at Riffraff!!!
