    Best bang for your buck

Posted by Randy on Apr 30th 2015

After spending lots of time comparing different filter options I finally found the full kit here for a price that probably couldn't be beat trying to piece together a kit on my own. It feels like there's more turbo lag (more air, I'm not tuned yet) but overall smoother acceleration. Also just went on a long roadtrip (700+ miles) and with just this intake kit and 4" exhaust otherwise stock 4x4 truck I averaged 18.3 mpg hand-calculated which I thought was awesome. RiffRaff coming through again with an awesome product at a great price with super fast shipping.

    My Turbo Can Breath

Posted by MJ on Apr 17th 2015

Huge improvement over my stock air box and K&N oiled filter. Turbo spools up noticeably quicker. With the pre filter bag nothing but clean air is getting by this system. Super fast shipping and simple install (15 min.)

    Quick and easy

A decent, simple replacement for the junk stock filter box. Wish it came with a different brand filter element. Baldwin filters are cheap and inferior. Maybe add an option to upgrade to a Donaldson, Wix, Fleetguard, etc.

    BIG AZZ FILTER

Posted by bigdicdangler on Apr 3rd 2015

The filter riffraff uses is actually a Baldwin, not the napa 6637 filter, which is a good thing. The Baldwin filter is water resistant, napa is not. The only gripe I have is they should put about 5 degrees more on the bend and make the elbow 1 1/2 inches longer on one side to center the filter between the fuse box and the battery ( in case someone were to build a box for the filter), but I'm just gonna make a new elbow out of stainless, and make either a carbon fiber or fiberglass cold air intake for mine.

    Quality product great price.

Product arrived on time, install went pretty well. Quality is very good as with all of the products i have purchased thus far from Riffraff. ( Just installed the RR billet wheel for 2001 ford 7.3 ,best upgrade for money) I left the lower portion of my Stock air cleaner box in place, but cut out some of the plastic side, closest to the turbo. This allows the air tube to sit down a little bit giving more distance between the hood and the filter. There was also two vertical ridges of plastic that are on the battery side, that I cut out, so that the air filter could sit down into the stock lower air box (lid removed of course). It just fits in there with a little modification. Use a multi tool and it is very easy. I install pics on website show the entire box removed but it is not necessary if you don't want to.
