Could not get the gasket to seal

I had ordered a non-OEM part which was a mistake, 4 hours of trying to get it to thread onto the check valve at the head I finally ordered this part. Fit was great, threaded perfectly but the rubber gasket never seated properly. I ended up having to order the braided stainless steel hose kit RR makes. It works flawlessly

Fixed mysterious leak that showed at the starter and torque converter cover. I thought it was engine oil. It was actually diesel fuel that had washed the motor as it ran downward, looked like engine oil, but it was not. The strap on the fuel line wore through the line wall. Degreased a few times and now all clean.
    Thank you RiffRaff

How to install this part the EASY way

Posted by Unknown on Jan 15th 2021

With ONLY a 9/16 open ended wrench ! ! My line developed a weeper so I purchased a part from O'r... as I was on the road. Developed total failure in Barstow, CA: 100 miles both directions to civilization, but I had a replacement. With a cool engine, a 9/16" wrench and this video>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqdoRSHZQbI <<, I thought it would be better to try than the 12 minute video where the guy took apart the whole top intake. I parked in the Home depot parking lot in case I needed more tools. Unscrewed the fittings, 30 seconds out with the old and in with the new, and then spent 2 HOURS trying to get the back fitting to go on.
FRUSTRATED, I called the dealer (4 miles away) and they had the OEM part for the same price as O'r.... Following the video it was 15 seconds in place, 3 minutes to thread it up and tighten, fired it up with no leaks in less than 5 minutes. Moral is, if you have time, do get RR's OEM part as the price is 2/3 of dealer OEM, Being on the road I didn't have delivery time and bought Dealer OEM. Then took back the O'r part to get my money back.
While this may not be a review of RR's OEM part, he does sell OEM, Hopefully someone will see this and thank the man on youtube for his fabulous help.
