No fittings , customer service is awful

Posted by JONATHAN TAYLOR on Aug 4th 2023

Ordered this over priced gem to get ready for another haul in a couple days. Received a previously opened box. Got it installed only to discover there were no degas bottle fittings with it and a ridiculously small 1/8 plug where they belong. Called riffraff about the missing nipples and surprise, surprise, I was told to call Mishimoto. Called Mishimoto and Terell said that he wanted pics and invoice to "review". I said that sounds like a bunch of trouble. Can I just buy them. I am in a hurry and 1/8 npt nipples at the hardware store would have too small a barb. Would require oversize barb for such a small nipple. Terell said they are not sold separately and that possibly I was sent the incorrect radiator. After over a week of being trolled by Terell at Mishimoto customer service, I was told this radiator doesn't come with fittings. So either I was dragged along for nearly two weeks on purpose or customer service is simply incompetent. Regardless, if I was distributing this stuff I would make sure the poor soul knew about this before buying, so someone trying to get to work doesn't install it and have to rip it all back out just to get led around by customer service reps who could not be bothered to give a rip about you.

    Drop-In Replacement*

Posted by Buck on Jun 6th 2023

This is an excellent, OEM Fit (Slightly larger, but fit fine with a banks intercooler system installed) radiator replacement! I did need to purchase fittings from the hardware store for the overflow bottle return as well as a drain valve for servicing -which can be skipped if you are willing to just remove the lower radiator hose, the valve on my original radiator always made a mess anyway-

Thanks Clay for having great products at great prices!

Fitment was perfect. Truck runs 30 degrees cooler or more. Looks good much better than the factory plastic crap.

    Radiator

I wish the fittings were available, the fittings off the radiator I replaced did not fit. They were straight threads with Orings, the mishimoto has 1/8-27 NPT FITTINGS for the overflow tank and heater hose. Also wish the mishimoto radiator had a petcock drain where a hose could be used to drain like the oem radiator. Instead is has a drain plug that just allows the coolant to drain onto the radiator core support and harder to recover without a mess.

    excellent replacement

Clay saved my hide here. My OEM radiator sprung a leak on lower tank. Clay had this to me ASAP.
It seems to be very well built, and it dropped right in without any issues or modifications. My engine temps are sitting right at 195* right now or a bit lower according to my aftermarket temp gauge.
I highly recommend this radiator over the OEM one.
