7.3L Diesel Fuel Rail Crossover™ (FRx) 99-03 Powerstroke
"The Prescription For Your Fuel System Needs®"
Our 2nd Generation FRx™ System utilizes Eaton Aeroquip® 304 Stainless Steel Braided lines covered with a groundbreaking protective layer of HYTREL® from DuPont.
The FRx™ was made to solve the 'deadhead' fuel rail issue on the 99-03 Powerstroke engine by connecting the two heads and allowing a metered return you allow the air another return path, rather than forcing it through your injectors. This product was designed to eliminate the need to cut your return line and use compression fittings, so that it is a true bolt on system. We have also machined the FRx™ block to provide from stock to 72 psi of fuel pressure depending on which spring you choose to install it with. By using our kit and eliminating the air in the fuel system you can experience smoother, quieter idle, less cackle, and better throttle response among other things. You will also be increasing your injector life as well by utilizing the FRx™ and creating a regulated return back to the tank. Protective covers are also pre-installed to prevent chaffing of engine components from the SS braided line. These covers are also great if you want to keep the system looking OE and not draw attention to it once installed.

So far, so good
Installed as part of turbo replacement. Also did CVD fittings. This has smoothed out my 7.3 so much it doesn't move while idling. Although I am wondering if there are any new noises that come with this upgrade.

Truck seams to like it.
I replaced the turbo, turbo pedestal, up pipes. So access was there, the back connection was pretty easy, but the front one was a different story. Tight quarters to do the work also the hose to the front one was to short to wrap around the fuel bowl. So I had to go over the top of it. I hope it doesn't be a problem changing the fuel filter.

Awesome piece
It works as advertising. Worth the money!!!

Very happy
I was just about to do some elaborate regulated fuel return system mod and found this. I can't believe how much better my truck runs and how much quiter it is.Now for the hutch mod. I strongly recommend this for every later7.3. What Ford and international should of done from the get go!

After 5 plus years, still great
Price, simplicity, function, it works. Great product Clay, keep up the good work.

Must have for 7.3
Great product that is very easy to install. My injectors are happier now more than ever. Better acceleration and quieter at idle. On a side note if I were to install another one I would consider 9/32 square socket for the few extra dollars.

This should have been there from day one
I installed the Fuel Rail crossover during a recent update on my 99.6 F350 7.3l. I bumped the pressure in the bowl to the middle spring (~65psi) and Beast is a very happy truck. Smoother idle, less #8 cylinder cackle, and I like having the fuel cycling back to the tank from the heads instead of the remote chance of any air or water that may find its way into the system getting forced through the injectors. I added the Check Valve deletes with the FRx (see the review for the CVD)with the FRX so things are flowing great in the fuel system. I notice a bit more smoke on acceleration, so I may have to get some tuning adjustments since there is more fuel flow and pressure available for the injectors.

Solid product
The quality and craftsmanship of the piece from RRD was exceptional. The installation of the regulator block to the fuel bowl was a cinch. However when it came to pulling the test plugs, they gave me some difficulty. For the front test plug, I ended up unbolting the A/C compressor and its bracket to give me room to remove the plug. I used a vice grip so I needed some wiggle room.
The rear test plug came out pretty easy because I had the compressor housing off. To remove the rear test plug and attach the line and fitting would be very difficult without removing the housing. I hope this helps someone down the line.
Performance wise, I've noticed a nice, smooth and tame idle with less cackle. With a press of the go pedal, there seems to be more smooth and constant power delivery throughout the rev range.
Overall, I'm very happy with the product, but the install instructions could hint to the removal of those items I listed would make life easier! -
Great Product
easy install and works great! I immediately heard and felt a difference. Injectors make less noise and acceleration is smoother.
