DONALDSON BLUE EXTREME OIL FILTER 94-03
Awesome

Massive filter
Massive oil filter. Wanna say it took close to 2/3 of a gallon to top off before installing it. I had to reverse a trackbar bracket bolt to point opposite direction to clear the filter. Sits pretty much flush with bottom of oil pan. Not concerned with road rash since I’m not bombing my OBS. Hope it extends the oil life some. Did I mention it looks pretty cool too.

Beast
This thing is HUGE! installed it and drove around a couple days and my oil got cleaner that it was before. Yes I installed this mid oil life(didnt change the oil) because i wanted to test the rumors about it. They are all true. This thing cleans the oil like magic.

Solid Donaldson Product
Impressed with this filter. We use Donaldson filters at work on our CAT equipment so I know their reputation and this filter that threads onto the 7.3L is a great upgrade. It is absolutely a tight fit. I found that the tight fit on my stock height 4wd OBS was both length (to get the first thread started) and diameter (clearance to the oil pan). It is larger both in diameter and length than the stock filter, so if you don’t have a big filter wrench, make sure you get a big one that will handle a 4 5/8” +/- filter (I failed to measure ahead of time and still need to order one because my 4.125”-4.5” capacity won’t fit). Holds about another quart of oil over stock so don’t forget to add that in on your total change amount for refill.

Good for a lifted truck
Have clearance issue on a stock 4wd f250. I had it on for 3 weeks and found a crease on the bottom of the filter from the sway bar. Happy I caught this prior to damaging the filter mount or worse. I drove mostly on the road.
Totally bummed as this is a great filter and changed back to a stock filter.
