It works but isn't simply a bolt on (install instructions below)

Posted by Chris on Sep 8th 2015

Far from a simple bolt on job but I personally feel I have the easiest install method.
Clip off wire ties from the heat shield on the factory DP, remove the shields and cut the pipe under the bottom of the truck and then come up top and cut the cobra head of the DP. Watch your metal shavings so not to enter the turbo
    Remove old DP
    Now comes the new one
DO NOT try to beat your firewall to death trying to push it back for clearance. Simply pull your carpet back on the passenger side and you will see the pinch weld silicone directly under the dash. You will notice three bends (curves) on the firewall. Take your sawzall and cut the middle curve out and in about a 4 inch square... 1inch to the left and 3 to the right. This will immediately give you instant clearance and allow enough room to wrap the pipe with header wrap to help the heat out. It also keeps it from touching the firewall and creating the tin can "drum" effect. Just cover your nasty hole up with some aluminum peel and seel from lowes and reinstall the carpet...your done.

    Couldn't be happier

Posted by Scott on Jun 10th 2015

This isn't some gimmicky part that is charging you for the makers name, it's everything you need and nothing you don't and it makes a hell of a difference. It only takes an hour or so with s sawzall and a couple metal blades, don't be discouraged if you've by what people say it's dead simple. Diamond eye knocked it out if the park!

    Definitely an improvement!

Installation wasn't as bad as I've heard. Noticeably more free flowing than the stock downpipe, I can now coast when letting off the accelerator.

    Loving the whistle

It took me longer than expected but worth it. I did the riffraff 6637 filter and cat delete as well and can't be happier.

the new pipe is the easy part

Posted by seth on Oct 9th 2014

as others have said, the hardest part is getting the old 1 piece pipe out of the truck. you have to cut the head off the old pipe to clear the up pipe on the pside. once i did that it was 30min and i was done.

i even tried lowering the trans and various options. cut the old one out and its easy.

lil bit of work but opens up turbo

    Posted by Ameri-Cajun on Jul 22nd 2014

Didn't take long to get it in.
I had to do a little cutting on the fire wall and found that it was easier to do the work without the turbo in place. I remove the turbo and installed the EBPV delete kit. Turbo sings it's ass off. More power along with a slight increase in fuel mileage. Clay didn't waste any time getting my order shipped. I ordered a lot more products from riffraff and will be ordering more.

    Diamond Eye 7.3 downpipe

Worked great. Only trouble was getting my old downpipe out. I'll definitely be buying Diamond Eye for my future trucks.

    good stuff

Good down pipe. Every truck is different but it fit well on my truck with minimal cutting. Can't go wrong with diamond eye!
