S&B OBS 7.3 Powerstroke Cold Air Intake Kit 94–97

S&B OBS 7.3 Powerstroke Cold Air Intake Kit 94–97

Jun 17th 2026

The factory 1994–1997 OBS 7.3 Powerstroke intake gets the job done, but it is not exactly known for airflow. The S&B OBS 7.3 Powerstroke Cold Air Intake Kit gives the truck a cleaner, less restrictive intake path with better filter capacity and a more complete airbox setup.

The oiled-filter version flows 53.69% better than stock with a 99.41% efficiency rating at 651 CFM using ISO coarse dust testing. The dry-filter version flows 52.53% better than stock with 99.22% efficiency at 651 CFM.

Why upgrade?

More clean air helps the 7.3 breathe better, especially on trucks with exhaust, tuning, or turbo upgrades. It can help improve throttle response, reduce restriction, and support cleaner airflow to the turbo without giving up filtration.

Oiled vs dry filter

The oiled filter offers the highest listed airflow and uses red filter oil with a listed re-oiling amount of 72 grams.

The dry filter is the lower-maintenance option: no oiling, no re-oiling, and still a major airflow improvement over stock.

Install

Remove the factory intake assembly, install the S&B airbox, fit the intake tube and filter, install the lid/scoop components, tighten all clamps, then verify the filter is fully seated and the intake path is sealed before starting the truck.
