Why this tool matters

7.3 owners commonly replace valve springs when installing upgraded springs, to handle increased boost from larger injectors, higher-boost turbos, and/or performance tuning. The right tool makes the job safer and more repeatable, especially with the engine still in the truck.

Installation Reality

Bring the cylinder to top dead center, remove the rocker assembly and pushrods, install the compressor tool, compress the spring, remove the keepers with a magnet, swap the spring and seal as needed, reinstall the retainer and keepers, remove the tool, then verify the pushrods are seated before reinstalling the rocker assembly.
