Parts required:

Stainless Steel HPX 94-97: https://www.riffraffdiesel.com/stainless-steel-hpx-94-97/

Stainless Steel HPX 99-03: https://www.riffraffdiesel.com/stainless-steel-hpx-99-03/

Recommended tools:

  • Standard wrenches

1. Locate the oil rail plugs on the left and right cylinder head (fig. 1, 2).

2. Clean the area thoroughly to remove grime/debris (use a light solvent such as brake cleaner).

3. Remove the oil gallery plugs.

4. Install the Riffraff ORB-to-JIC adapter into each head port. Torque to 28–35 ft-lb until the flange is flush with the port surface (fig. 3).

5. Align the tube “B” nuts to the fittings and torque to 18–20 ft-lb (fig. 4).

6. After everything is torqued, start the engine and let it idle while checking for leaks. A slightly rough idle after install is normal due to air introduced into the heads; it should purge out and be fully cleared after roughly 25 miles.

7. After driving, check for leaks again.

Testing Results:

ICP is much smoother and more consistent.
