The 7.3 Powerstroke HPOP drive gear bolt access cover is not the most fun to deal with when the HPOP has to come out. The factory cover is a thin sheet metal plate sealed with RTV. Every time it is removed, you get to scrape sealant, clean both surfaces, reapply RTV, and wait for it to cure before trusting it not to leak oil.

The Riffraff Diesel HPOP Non-EBP Bolt Access Cover (RDP-BAC-OBS) replaces that setup with a reusable 6061-T6 billet aluminum cover and Viton quad-seal O-ring for cleaner sealing and easier future service.

Why it makes sense

If you are already servicing the HPOP, front cover, reservoir, or high-pressure oil system, this eliminates one more RTV-sealed part from the job. The billet cover is stronger than the factory plate, easier to remove and reinstall, and much cleaner for future HPOP access.

Fitment note

This is the non-EBP version. Trucks that use the EBP sensor provision at the access cover need Riffraff’s HPOP Bolt Access Cover w/ EBP 99-03 instead.

Install

Remove the factory plate, clean all the old RTV from the front cover, install the Viton quad seal in the Riffraff cover, install the cover with supplied stainless hardware, then start the truck and check for leaks.

Replacement Seal

Riffraff also offers the HPOP Bolt Access Cover Replacement Kit with a fresh seal and hardware if either is ever lost or damaged.

Bottom line: The RDP-BAC-OBS turns a thin, RTV-sealed 7.3 HPOP access plate into a reusable billet and O-ring setup that is cleaner, stronger, and easier to service.
