The 7.3 Powerstroke turbo pedestal is one of the usual suspects when oil shows up in the valley, down the back of the engine, or around the passenger-side up-pipe. On EBPV-equipped trucks, the actuator in the pedestal uses engine oil to move the exhaust back pressure valve during cold-start warm-up. Over time, the internal seals wear out and the actuator can leak through the shaft or base.
The Riffraff Diesel Billet Non-EBPV Blank Pedestal (RDP-PED-SD) removes that actuator from the equation. It’s built for late 1999–2003 7.3L Powerstroke trucks with a production date of 12/8/1998 and later (if you have a 1999, be sure to check the production date).

Why upgrade?
The factory pedestal is cast aluminum and includes the EBPV actuator assembly. If the actuator leaks, oil can pool in the valley, drip down the back of the engine, smoke off the up-pipe, and/or look like a rear main seal leak. The EBPV actuator and pedestal O-rings are some of the more common 7.3 oil leak sources.
This billet pedestal replaces the standard cast-style pedestal with a stronger, more precise 6061-T6 billet aluminum unit. It’s an industry-first billet aluminum pedestal for late 1999–2003 trucks, with tighter machining, stronger turbo support, upgraded billet ORB Viton plug seals, anodizing for corrosion and wear resistance, and includes pedestal bolts, turbo mounting bolts, and O-rings.

Fitment note
This is for 1999.5–2003 trucks only. It is not the correct pedestal for OBS or early 1999 trucks. We also recommend the Fuel Feed Line SS Braided Hose Kit with this pedestal as factory hard lines or aftermarket hard lines may need adjustment for clearance.

Don’t forget the EBPV side of the job
The pedestal removes the EBPV actuator, but a clean EBPV delete also needs the valve side handled at the turbo outlet. The cleanest method is using a blank pedestal and non-EBPV turbo outlet rather than modifying the factory parts with plugs. After removing the EBPV, the PCM may still look for the actuator during cold starts, so we recommend an EBP Pedestal Actuator Isolator Pigtail instead of leaving the old actuator plugged in and sitting in the valley. Both will work, the isolator is just much cleaner.
Install
Remove the intake plumbing, spider, turbo inlet, downpipe clamp, up-pipe Marmon clamp, and turbo mounting bolts. Lift the turbo off the pedestal, remove the EBPV actuator connection, unbolt the pedestal, clean the block mating surface, install the new pedestal with fresh O-rings, torque the pedestal bolts to 18 ft-lb, reinstall the turbo, reinstall the up-pipe Marmon clamp, torque the turbo mounting bolts to 36 ft-lbs, and check for leaks after startup.
