If you own a 1994–2000 7.3L Powerstroke, you’re likely missing the benefit of the low-pressure oil mesh screen found on later 2001–2003 models. Most don't understand that the HPOP takes it's supply directly from the oil pan, before the oil is sent through the filter. Early on, Ford/International was having cosnistant problems with oil contamination that plagued the IPR, injectors and other items. Around 1999-2000 they started adding a mesh screen to the HPOP reservoir that removed large contaminants from the oil. The issues that plagued the prior years essentially dissapeared. The difference was massive and reliability skyrocketed.

Riffraff Diesel’s Patented Billet Mini Reservoir Spacer solves the missing screen problem for the early years by allowing you to run a screen-style HPOP reservoir gasket without risking a cracked front cover (installing the newer screened gasket without this spacer more often than not, results in a cracked front cover). Once installed, the low-pressure oil is filtered through the mesh screen before entering the HPOP, offering cleaner oil flow and better protection.

The kit includes a Billet 6061-T6 aluminum spacer, upper and lower Motorcraft O-rings, and custom-coated longer mounting bolts. A matching Mini Spacer Fuel Bowl Drop Bracket is also available to support your stock fuel bowl.

Proudly made in the USA from American materials, two different spacers are available, one for 1994–1995 7.3L Powerstroke engines and the other for 1996-2000.

Note: install the screen gasket on top of the spacer, not the front cover. For 1994–1997 models with an EBP sensor bracket, upgrade to the 1999–2003 style or use the adapter listed below. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners—only soap and water—to preserve the anodized finish.

The image below shows both types of front covers. The earlier model, without provisions for the screen gasket, is on the top, while the later Super Duty style is below it. Notice the flat surface on the right side on the lower cover. This was removed to allow room for the screen gasket sometime around 1999-2000.
