7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Rebuild Kits, With an Upgrade
Aug 8th 2025
The Problem: Turbo failure, it's not if, but when you'll deal with it. There's multiple ways to go about fixing your turbocharger woes. Hands down the least expensive, rebuild it yourself. It's easier to do that you'd think (check out the full step by step How To, here: https://www.riffraffdiesel.com/blog/ford-73-powerstroke-gtp38-turbocharger-rebuild-how-to/)
The Fix: The Riffraff Diesel GTP38 360° Bearing Turbocharger Rebuild kit comes with everything you'll need to rebuild your 7.3's turbocharger (assuming it's not too far gone, which most aren't). The included 360-degree thrust bearing is the star of the show, designed to give you longer life and better performance by withstanding more turbine drive pressure without premature wear. Unlike the stock Garrett's 270-degree bearing, our upgraded design allows for superior oiling to keep things running smoothly. This kit comes complete with everything you need, including the backplate O-ring, compressor housing O-ring, compressor housing outlet O-ring, 360-degree thrust bearings, shaft carbon seals, journal bearings, and four new bolts.
Looking to upgrade for a little more performance? Throw in a billet compressor wheel while you're in there and experience better overall turbocharger performance. No more surging like the factory-installed compressor wheel does, plus better throttle response and a bump in flow.
