Excellent material quality. Found it odd how the the smaller clamp had the bigger mm nut, while the bigger clamp had the smaller nut. The bigger (3.5”) clamp had the same mm size as the stock bolts for the air intake bracket so that worked out. But with the original clamps I could do it all with my Klein screwdriver using the time honored 5/16” nut driver.
Now I need two different sized sockets; short and deep versions, and extensions for the ratchet. The one plus is with the awesome quality of the boots and clamps, I’ll likely only need to mess with it if I’m actually doing mechanical work anyways.

My other gripe is that the 2.25” clamps recommended for the boot kit should be 2” as it’s defined as the minimum size. The boots are 2 5/16”. Which means the clamps get maximum torque, which then takes a deep socket and a crap ton of thread past the nut as it pretty much maxes out. (Unless is operator error in which I revoke that statement)

It is a good quality clamp - speaking for myself, doing something for the first time is a learning curve. Getting the clamps on were tricky to get on the new air intake boot at the turbo. I had to remove the retaining nut, then wrap the clamp around the tube, which took some finagling due to limited space. The tubing outer surface is a non-slip material and trying to rotate the clamps in to place was challenging. I still recommend the clamps - they will definitely hold and keep the tubing sealed.

Use these on the 99.5 7.3 intake plenums with no issues. They are a little small and snug to get on like some have suggested my recommendation is to loosen up to the point only one thread is catching on the nut, put a little bit of Dawn dish soap around the boots get everything in to position as needed. Prior to tightening use a spray bottle with water to hose out the dish soap before clamping down.

I like these so much, I'm going to source more for my radiator hoses. They are simply about the best a person could ask for.

I ordered what was needed to replace all clamps on the intake boots for my new Turbo, and they work nice.
