5 Nice Tight Refresh

My 7.3L T444E powerstroke was registering fairly low oil pressure at 250,000+ miles. With the engine out for an oil change, I decided to change out the Low Pressure Oil Pump (LPOP). The new unit is much tighter (inner gear to outer) than the stock one I removed. As instructed in the kit, I soaked the gears in oil prior to installation.
Note, I did inspect the front cover and it was not grooved. If heavily grooved, there is a kit available elsewhere to fix that up; not needed in this case.
I also used Vaseline on the o-ring to keep it in place for installation. I'm looking forward to higher pressure from the LPOP. -

After communicating my issue to Riff Raff Diesel, I went ahead and ordered the M208. Sorry I did not order this sooner! What a terrific upgrade for less than 150 bucks. Really appreciated the detail instructions they provided too. I did this swap (it's really an upgrade!) with the fan in place and went just fine. Just a little more patience is needed to attach the puller ect... But worked out great.

Very easy to instal , just ensure the O ring mating face on the front cover is clean and inspect the front cover for ware from old pump. I used Permatex assembly oil liberally on the meshing surfaces. Thank you Riffraff.

I DID MY LPOP PREVENTITIVLY. 340K ON MY ENGINE AND IT WAS TAKING A MOMENT FOR THE PRESSURE GAUGE TO COME UP ON START UP. GETTING WORSE WITH WINTER SETTING IN, SO I FIGURED IT IS TIME. I WAS ALSO GETTING SOME OIL AIRATION NOT BAD NOT FOAMING BUT JUST SOME MICRO AIR BUBBLES. THE MELLING PUMP IS A SMALLER PUMP THAN OEM, BUT PUMPS MORE VOLUME FOR SURE!! SAYS RITE ON THE BOX MADE IN USA. THIS LITTLE GUY MADE A MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT ON HOW MY ENGINE RUNS. IMMEDIATLY ON START UP I NOTICED IT IDLES MUCH SMOOTHER, AND MUCH QUIETER. ITS 1/3 QUIETER AT IDLE, OIL PSI COMES UP RIGHT AWAY ON COLD START, RUNS SOO MUCH BETTER THROUGH THE ENTIRE RPM BAND. BASED ON HOW WELL THIS ONE IS DOING, I COME TO THE CONCLUSION MY OLD PUMP WAS LEGIT FAILING...I ALSO DID THE FLUIDAMPER DAMPER LISTED ON THIS WEBSITE PER CLAY'S RECCOMENDATION AT THE SAME TIME. FLUIDAMPER AND THE MELLING LPOP IS A WINNING PAIR FOR SURE. I WAS BLOWN AWAY HOW MUCH BETTER THIS THING IS. NOT AIRATING OIL ANYMORE
---ALSO, I WAS HAVING AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH INJECTORS NOT FIRING CORRECTLY AT OPERATING TEMP AND UNDER LOAD. IT WOULD ALMOST FEEL LIKE A MISS/ WEAK FIRE OF THE INJECTORS. CHASED MY TAIL WITH INJECTOR O-RINGS, HARNESSES, BALANCE TESTS WITH NO SUCSESS. PROBLEM SOLVED, INJECTORS FIRING CORRECTLY NOW UNDER LOAD.

I had an inexpensive hitch that just didn’t work well on my travel trailer. I could never get it to control sway. Now with the ProPride 3P sway control hitch my problem is solved. ProPride’s hitch combined with great instructions really make a difference in getting “dialed in”. To my knowledge there is no finer hitch on the market today!

Fantastic hitch. Easy to install with booklet snd YouTube videos. No sway at all. Throw pillows on sofa did not fall off while driving 60-75 mph on interstate, in the mountains with wind and 18 wheelers all around. Great company and people

Propride outstanding company and product Propride is in an outstanding company to do business with and I would give them 10 stars if I could. Example: I had a question while installing on a Saturday afternoon my driveway not being level and the instructions requiring a level install service. I Left a message and had a call back within 20 minutes. From Brent the general manager informing me that the trailer just needed to be parallel with The driveway and the truck.I was expecting a call back but no way was I expecting that call to come from Brent. I was able to install the hitch on my 7,500lb travel trailer without incident. The hitch made a huge difference in the towing of the vehicle virtually no sway and a rock stable tow. Almost as if it was a fifth wheel. My tow vehicle is a 2017 Ford Expedition and with the propride 3P hitch installed I was able to evenly distribute the weight over the two Expeditions axles. It took several trips through the weigh station to get my adjustments fine tuned but then I was able to mark them on the torsion bar jacks allowing me to repeat it as needed. No other weight distribution hitch that I know of allows you to fine-tune those adjustments as you can with the propride. While I was making the adjustments, at a truck stop, one of the truckers who was refueling his truck noted that he had never seen a hitch that would allow you to fine-tune the axle weights as you could with the this hitch. He said he'd been towing for 40 years and the importance of evenly distributing the weight over the tow vehicle cannot be overstated and yet so few hitches allow that adjustment. Most weight distribution hitches make a fixed Weight distribution and treat all trailers as if they weighed the same. Again this is one outstanding company and product

The first thing I will say is that when I called with questions about my order A REAL PERSON answered the phone and not some computer press this number or that number recording. I was then transferred to Brent who went above and beyond any expectation I had to take care of me. When he told me he'd call me back…..he did! The details of what my problem was don't really matter. What they DID to ensure a customer was taken care of is what matters. ProPride has earned a customer for life based on just their customer service. If I need something and they sell it then that is where I will buy it from. When it came time to go pickup my brand-new trailer, I took my recently deliver, still in the box, 3P with me so I new I would be safe pulling it home. Several hours after giving the hitch to the dealer they came to me and told me that my hitch wouldn't work, but they had the equalizer hitch there and it would work and they’d sell that to me. I had heard that dealers lack the knowledge about these hitches, but the instruction book is so clear and easy to follow, I thought they would be able to install it with no issues. I was wrong. After lots of talking and texting with Sean Woodruff on a Saturday afternoon/evening and sending him pics I was able to get them to make the proper adjustments and it worked great. Just another example of great customer service from an amazing company on a Saturday evening! Sean made sure we got our trailer and made it home safe. Driving home in the dark and in the rain and with a much larger trailer than I've ever pulled, and it pulled like a dream! Thanks Brent. Thanks Sean. Thanks ProPride. We upgraded from another WDH with a good reputation, but we still got some sway at highway speeds. Since installing the 3P, the ride is steady and we have no sway. The weight distribution is also more effective and the truck feels more stable. I would not tow with anything else at this point and I would encourage anyone who pulls a trailer, especially with a half ton truck to get one of these.

We drove through there in my 1/2 ton Silverado pulling a 7500 pound travel trailer, We were passed by semi trucks and we had absolutely no sway. It was amazing. It performed amazing and we didn’t even move at all when the semi trucks went flying by us.

My Grand Design 2800bh was the proverbial tail wagging the dog when I first got it. The propride turned everything around. Pulls straight and safely, even during a catastrophic blowout. Check your tire pressures kiddies. I’m pretty sure it could have been way worse without the propride. Seriously.
Very happy with the quality of the parts and excellent instructions. My husband and I installed it ourselves. We had to call customer support for some help and they answered our questions on a late Saturday afternoon. Very helpful. We love how much better the camper pulls with this hitch.
I’m not inclined to do product reviews, but this is simply incredible. I had regretted buying a travel trailer and was considering going to a larger truck and fifth wheel setup, thankfully I found this system and it has fixed all of my issues. It’s a bit of work to get setup and I won’t lie a minor inconvenience when hooking and un hooking up. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who wishes they would have bought a fifth wheel to keep their bumper pull trailer under control.
