7.3L Diesel Fuel Rail Crossover™ (FRx) 99-03 Powerstroke

"The Prescription For Your Fuel System Needs®"

Our 2nd Generation FRx™ System utilizes Eaton Aeroquip® 304 Stainless Steel Braided lines covered with a groundbreaking protective layer of HYTREL® from DuPont.

The FRx™ was made to solve the 'deadhead' fuel rail issue on the 99-03 Powerstroke engine by connecting the two heads and allowing a metered return you allow the air another return path, rather than forcing it through your injectors. This product was designed to eliminate the need to cut your return line and use compression fittings, so that it is a true bolt on system. We have also machined the FRx™ block to provide from stock to 72 psi of fuel pressure depending on which spring you choose to install it with. By using our kit and eliminating the air in the fuel system you can experience smoother, quieter idle, less cackle, and better throttle response among other things. You will also be increasing your injector life as well by utilizing the FRx™ and creating a regulated return back to the tank. Protective covers are also pre-installed to prevent chaffing of engine components from the SS braided line. These covers are also great if you want to keep the system looking OE and not draw attention to it once installed.

    FRx

Fits pretty well. You will have to grind a little on the baby’s butt of the uppipe collector if you have an e99. Fuel pressure improved 4 psi from stock regulator with black spring. Truck runs a little smoother and the idle sounds better. Instructions one where to route hoses could be a little more clear but it is still a great kit.

    FRx is Great!

Posted by Jentry on Nov 1st 2021

I installed on my '00 Excursion a few weeks ago and have since put ~1500 miles on the truck. Half of those miles were pulling a 9000lb camper, and the FRx (+HPx) made the truck much more enjoyable. All the cackling and sharp noises are gone, throttle response is better, and fuel mileage improved (~1gpm). Even the whooshing noises I had from the waste gate are gone, which is one less thing to listen to when driving. These additions complement a 75hp tune and high flow filter.

Now I can hear my wife and five kids so much better! Thanks, Riff Raff!

    Quality System

Posted by Brayden on Oct 26th 2021

First off I have to complement Riffraff on thier customer service. I hadn't even purchased the product and they were happy to take the time to answer my questions and walk through the install with me. Shipping was fast, and installed wasn't really too difficult with the detailed instructions. I really notice a difference how fast my Excursion starts now, not to mention how much quieter it is at idle and when cruising on the road.

Fuel rail crossover - very nice

Posted by john on Sep 28th 2021

I've got like 290K on my 1999 F350. I had to redo the seals on my HP oil pump and found this and the fuel system cross over.

I cleaned up the IPR valve and noted that the engine was a bit quieter, and noted that the oil cross over and the fuel cross over would make the engine quieter still.

I did the cross over and fuel cross over separately to see what the differences were. (I have a separate review for the oil crossover.)

The fuel cross over was pretty easy to do after understanding how much torque I needed torque in the fittings for the oil crossover. I'd also previously remove the fuel bowl when getting into the HPOP so loosening the fuel bowl was another easy step..

I used a 7MM open ended wrench to remove the plugs. Since I have a 99, I also ground the exhaust pipe a bit for the installation of the read driver side fuel port, but in hind sight i'm not sure I really needed to do that.

At idle, i'm not sure I can tell this is more quiet then what the oil cross over does. But at speed, the engine is noticeably quieter. My wife also noticed that as well. I installed the gold spring as all I have is a moderate 50 HP chip. And unlike the oil cross-over by itself, the throttle response also seems more responsive. Don't have enough miles to determine if the fuel mileages is better yet.

If you are going to do this, i'd recommenced doing this with the Oil cross over as well.

Very pleased with the engine behavior as well the fit and finish of the product - pretty happy so far.

Next mod is the AFE air cleaner.
