7.3 & 6.0 Powerstroke Billet Aluminum Thermostat Housings

7.3 & 6.0 Powerstroke Billet Aluminum Thermostat Housings

Aug 1st 2025

The Problem: The factory-installed thermostat housings on the 7.3 and 6.0 Powerstrokes are very prone to corrosion. Corrosion that eventually leads to coolant leaks. Leaks for either engine generally start where the hose mounts to the housing. It can look like a failed hose or a loose connection. Upon pulling the hose, the corrosion becomes obvious (oftentimes, corrosion is visible around the hose at the housing as well). We've seen band-aids of all kinds, from multiple hose clamps to electrical tape, extensive grinder work, and even globs of silicone. Once the leak starts, the only true way to fix it is to replace the housing. If you replace it with another OEM unit, plan on replacing it again in the future.

The Fix: Riffraff Diesel Billet Aluminum Housings. 100% made in the USA from billet aluminum, these housings are designed for a perfect fit and seal, with superior durability. They're available in multiple anodized colors for enhanced corrosion resistance and clean under-hood appearances. The kits include all stainless steel hardware, providing an ultimate, reliable solution for a leak-free cooling system.
