    Great product

The turbo pedestal feels like a quality product. The only issue I had is that 2 bolts that held my turbo to my original pedestal were tool long due to the fact the new turbo pedestal is shaped differently that the oem one so you’ll likely need 2 shorter bolts to install.

Awesome product from Riffraff, looks good and everything bolted up like it should. I didn't realize it doesn't come with mounting bolts until I went to install it so you will want to order some. Riffraff Diesel is my go to place for all my 7.3 Powerstroke needs, Clay always gets right back to me with any questions. Thank you Clay and everyone at Riffraff!!!

    Fixed the Problem Permanently

Posted by Matt S on Jul 6th 2023

Great fit and finish on this product which I’ve just come to expect from Riffraff! It fixes the leaking EBPV permanently which as a side benefit also makes the turbo reinstall easier than it was to pull with the EBPV pedestal (less clutter). You’re going to want not only standard wrenches and sockets, but also a combination of flex head and stubby ratcheting wrenches to pull/reinstall the turbo and pedestal. I also had a 2” torque adapter set and a 10mm swivel socket which i don’t think I could have connected up pipes without.

It should go without saying that if you’re doing this modification, you’re also replacing turbo/pedestal o-rings and if it hasn’t been done recently, rebuilding your turbo. Take your time and plan on it being more than a one day project. My ‘97 OBS with 275k on the original turbo took me 30+ hours of work to pull, rebuild, and reinstall (reinstall was less than 3 hours). But there was a LOT of cleanup and about half of my bolts required significant work to get out (some of which broke resulting in me replacing a couple extra parts when I couldn’t get them out with an easy out). Regardless it’s not a quick project.

Can’t say enough good things about RiffRaff!
    Perfect fit great price!

Everything went according to plan for the most part!!

One thing i would say is CHECK THE SET SCREW BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN!

I kept telling myself that i would during the rebuild and yet it slipped my mind in the 9th hr…. And so after two drives she leaked ALOT!
Down the transmission and down the driver’s side

    At first I dreaded a pinched Oring….
But it’s nice to lay midship with 4 feet of extenders and a swivel on 5mm Allen!

And the success is all that much better when it’s just a set screw

All and all I should have set it up in the mill and plunged an endmill to fit a 1/2 freeze plug

Excellent product! The screws on me I should have checked it BEFORE! Hahah

    RiffRaff Diesel TP-38 Blank/Deleted Pedestal 94-97

Good fit and finish, looks great under my new stage 1 KC Turbo I also purchased at this site too !
A whole lot easier to install than the original. Once I finally got entire project finished and allowing engine to idle for a few minutes checking around for possible leaks and such discovered oil running down back of motor all over transmission. Quickly lowered vehicle and shut it down. Inspected with mirror and found the Allen head fitting had oil trail at base. I had seen this fitting upon removal from packaging, but didn’t think or know about checking tightness. While using a 3’ extension, 2 wobble joints a 5 mm Allen socket, it went in about 5 turns until it bottomed out. Snugged it down, cleaned areas and double checked before leaving work, inspected after getting home after 20 miles and no other leaks found. That was the reason for 4 stars. I still think it’s a very nice pedestal. If a friend buys one, I’ll sure to tell him to check that fitting.
