Part Number:

Riffraff Diesel Bellowed Up-pipe Kit for Ford 7.3L 94-Early 99

These bellowed up-pipes are for the 94-Early 99 Powerstroke 7.3L and have been designed to replace the "donut" gasket that is prone to leakage and give you a more cost effective choice over International.

Our bellowed up-pipes are not only less expensive than International they are also much higher quality both in material and fitment.  Made from aircraft grade 321 Stainless Steel rather than 409 or even 304 allows for a lifetime product that won't rust or crack, ever.  Because 321SS handles significantly higher temperatures and have better tensile strength these can also be used in much higher horsepower and towing applications than the International brand. 321 Stainless Steel is immune to extreme temperatures, stabilized by Titanium, resists intergranular corrosion, and is high strength. Used for aircraft afterburners, exhaust manifolds, cabin heaters, flash boilers, firewalls, and stack liners. Not only is our tubing 321 but so are the custom thick wall bellows and upper collar.

Bellowed Up-pipes are what you need to cure those leaking stock up-pipes. It isn't a matter of IF but WHEN your factory style up-pipes will start to leak, and when they do this is your permanent answer. Because they used a bellow rather than a donut gasket these kits won't leak and will ensure you are utilizing all your boost to spool the turbo. When your factory up-pipes leak you will start to see a loss of power, mileage and a gain in EGT's. This kits come complete as pictured with everything you need to swap the leaking factory up-pipes for the new bellowed style, including hardware nuts and bolts.

Kit Includes:

- 321 Stainless Up-pipes
- International Stainless Gaskets
- OEM Ford Motor Company Install Hardware Kit

*Ceramic Coating Details -

The Turbo Black ceramic was formulated for exhaust temps up to 2000*F and will hold in at least 60% of the heat from radiating out under your hood. Not all black coatings will achieve that function. These coatings have been specifically formulated for use on military aircraft.

By retaining the heat energy your turbo will spool up faster and more efficiently. We double coat the outside of the housing to protect it from rusting and it results in a much longer attractive finish while retaining heat. The two main functions of the coating is appearance and longevity of your engine parts and gaining a more efficient running engine.

Thank you for the great service and the ability to get it right the first time !
I needed these air freighted in (the tranny was out of the truck), arrived like clockwork. Fit perfect and the truck has a noticeable improvement in performance. I can hear the turbo again, it is boosting sooner than before. My salesperson was knowledgeable and polite.
    Thanks !!

I can’t believe the quality of these welds. Perfect fit, and solid construction. Had an install question, and the tech at Riffraff called me back in under 15 mins, was pinpoint accurate and knowledgeable on the install and answered my question like he had installed tons of these. Can’t say enough about the product and customer service! You guys are my go to shop from now on.

This product was recommended by professionals at the repair shop. Well made, quality design, and readily installed by the shop. Thanks for making quality products to keep my rig on the road (or off road as required!)!

  5. Amazing Quality 5 Star Review

The are some of the nicest parts I have seen come through the shop. I have Installed several sets over the years on super duty trucks but this was my first older 7.3 install. Install was easy, everything fit perfect and I live that they use actual OEM ford hardware instead something cheaper from a hardware store. I will be recommending your guys products to all my customers after seeing this quality set of pipes.

  6. Great product! 4 Star Review

Absolutely great product, great fit finish and (for a early 99) price. I really appreciate the religion present in riff raff diesel. My
Only slight gripe about the product is I wish the bezel on the passenger side was slightly lower to the manifold instead of right on the Y pipe, makes it kinda hard to get a wrench around the bolt going into the y pipe. But that may have to be done to get a good bezel or something, other than that flawless!

  7. Finally... Up pipe problem resolved!!! 5 Star Review

I've had leak after leak after leak every time I did up pipe maintenance. I finally decided to go with bellowed pipes. I Started searching the net, as the early 99 parts are not always easy to come buy. I'm one that hates using jobber parts. I read many positive posts about the Riffraff up pipes on a few Ford forums. Did my homework, called Riffraff and had to wait for a call back. I spoke with a very polite, professional and well informed gentleman on the phone who answered all my questions and doubts. Placed the order, received the package, installed the parts and was very happy with the outcome. Quieter, no leaks or smell, a little more power that before. Over all, great and well designed parts and built in house by Riffraff for easy install. I did remove the transmission in order to make sure the install was done well and I could properly run the engine to see for leaks, which I found non.
Highly recommend the Riffraff early 99 up pipe kit!!!

  8. Crazy Quality, amazing fit 5 Star Review

So glad I did these rather than yet another set of stockers from Ford. The welds on these pipes are artwork. With the way the fit in the truck you can tell Riffraff is really taking their time and making a superior product. Can't recommend these highly enough. This kind of product and quality is what is missing in many areas of the truck industry.

  9. No hassle product, fits exactly the way it is designed. Installed on an early 99 2wd. 5 Star Review

Ok, first and foremost, you get what you pay for. That said, these pipes are outstanding. In my book, they are priced fairly due to their quality, fit and finish.

I happen to have a have a lift, and my manual transmission was out for a rebuild. Time for new up-pipes! Also, I did this without removing the turbo.

When removing the old pipes, I sprayed PB blaster on the old bolts and let it soak for a day. I removed both old up-pipes and the Y pipe. While you have the Y pipe out, clean up the Y pipe using a bench mounted wire wheel on a grinder, then run a thread chaser on all bolt holes to ease new bolt installation.

You're supposed to chase threads with all engine repairs, not sure why anyone would have to be told this. Nonetheless, some folks don't do this (yep, me included) and they cause themselves undue grief. I can't blame anyone but me if I don't do it right the first time.

Note* When you re-install your y-pipe manifold on the turbo, make sure it 'clicks' in to the locator dowel. I had to pull the clamp apart to get this sucker to go back in, but after that, it snapped in; the rest was a was a breeze.

Next, FULLY tighten the clamp on the Y pipe- you will need the holding power to stretch the new pipes.

BTW- these pipes are engineered to be slightly shorter than the old up-pipes (on purpose) so DO NOT TIGHTEN up the exhaust manifold bolts until you have a good trial fit with loose bolts. Once it looks right, then begin tightening the upper exhaust manifold bolts, a little at a time, working your way back and forth from one side to the other; next, do the same with the lower bolts on the exhaust manifold; alternate back and forth in your tightening sequence; thus, stretching pipes to they match YOUR particular engine system.

The pipes will easily stretch and pull down to the manifold. Again, just keep working those bolts back and forth to get an even stretch.

BTW- I did use anti-seize on all threads to ease installation. Obviously this stuff will burn off later, but it sure helps the install process. That about does it. I do have many decades of mechanical repair experience, but this repair any novice can handle if they are patient and thorough. DO NOT GET IN A RUSH.

  10. Amazing Quality 5 Star Review

It is rare to see quality like this anymore. You get so use to seeing bare minimum products that these pipes really stand out. Do it once and do it right, don't settle as it isn't a job you want to do twice.
