Riffraff Diesel Bellowed Up-pipe Kit for Ford 7.3L 94-Early 99

These bellowed up-pipes are for the 94-Early 99 Powerstroke 7.3L and have been designed to replace the "donut" gasket that is prone to leakage and give you a more cost effective choice over International.

Our bellowed up-pipes are not only less expensive than International they are also much higher quality both in material and fitment.  Made from aircraft grade 321 Stainless Steel rather than 409 or even 304 allows for a lifetime product that won't rust or crack, ever.  Because 321SS handles significantly higher temperatures and have better tensile strength these can also be used in much higher horsepower and towing applications than the International brand. Not only is our tubing 321 but so are the custom thick wall bellows and upper collar.

Bellowed Up-pipes are what you need to cure those leaking stock up-pipes. It isn't a matter of IF but WHEN your factory style up-pipes will start to leak, and when they do this is your permanent answer. Because they used a bellow rather than a donut gasket these kits won't leak and will ensure you are utilizing all your boost to spool the turbo. When your factory up-pipes leak you will start to see a loss of power, mileage and a gain in EGT's. This kits come complete as pictured with everything you need to swap the leaking factory up-pipes for the new bellowed style, including hardware nuts and bolts.

Kit Includes:

- 321 Stainless Up-pipes
- Stainless Gaskets
- OE Install Hardware Kit

*Ceramic Coating Details -

The Turbo Black ceramic was formulated for exhaust temps up to 2000*F and will hold in at least 60% of the heat from radiating out under your hood. Not all black coatings will achieve that function. These coatings have been specifically formulated for use on military aircraft.

By retaining the heat energy your turbo will spool up faster and more efficiently. We double coat the outside of the housing to protect it from rusting and it results in a much longer attractive finish while retaining heat. The two main functions of the coating is appearance and longevity of your engine parts and gaining a more efficient running engine.

  1. No hassle product, fits exactly the way it is designed. Installed on an early 99 2wd. 5 Star Review

Posted by on Nov 18th 2017

Ok, first and foremost, you get what you pay for. That said, these pipes are outstanding. In my book, they are priced fairly due to their quality, fit and finish.

I happen to have a have a lift, and my manual transmission was out for a rebuild. Time for new up-pipes! Also, I did this without removing the turbo.

When removing the old pipes, I sprayed PB blaster on the old bolts and let it soak for a day. I removed both old up-pipes and the Y pipe. While you have the Y pipe out, clean up the Y pipe using a bench mounted wire wheel on a grinder, then run a thread chaser on all bolt holes to ease new bolt installation.

You're supposed to chase threads with all engine repairs, not sure why anyone would have to be told this. Nonetheless, some folks don't do this (yep, me included) and they cause themselves undue grief. I can't blame anyone but me if I don't do it right the first time.

Note* When you re-install your y-pipe manifold on the turbo, make sure it 'clicks' in to the locator dowel. I had to pull the clamp apart to get this sucker to go back in, but after that, it snapped in; the rest was a was a breeze.

Next, FULLY tighten the clamp on the Y pipe- you will need the holding power to stretch the new pipes.

BTW- these pipes are engineered to be slightly shorter than the old up-pipes (on purpose) so DO NOT TIGHTEN up the exhaust manifold bolts until you have a good trial fit with loose bolts. Once it looks right, then begin tightening the upper exhaust manifold bolts, a little at a time, working your way back and forth from one side to the other; next, do the same with the lower bolts on the exhaust manifold; alternate back and forth in your tightening sequence; thus, stretching pipes to they match YOUR particular engine system.

The pipes will easily stretch and pull down to the manifold. Again, just keep working those bolts back and forth to get an even stretch.

BTW- I did use anti-seize on all threads to ease installation. Obviously this stuff will burn off later, but it sure helps the install process. That about does it. I do have many decades of mechanical repair experience, but this repair any novice can handle if they are patient and thorough. DO NOT GET IN A RUSH.

  2. Amazing Quality 5 Star Review

Posted by on Oct 18th 2017

It is rare to see quality like this anymore. You get so use to seeing bare minimum products that these pipes really stand out. Do it once and do it right, don't settle as it isn't a job you want to do twice.

  3. Great product 5 Star Review

Posted by on Aug 29th 2017

I ordered these for my early 99 and although they are expensive the quality seems to be top notch. Beware of a few things when attempting this that the directions don't tell you.
You will need to tap all threads if you are using your old collector.
Attach the passenger side bolts and secure to torque specs before you try to align the y collector to the turbo exhaust housing. I ended up removing the drives side up pipe so I could hook a motorcycle tie down into the y pipe hole and running it all the way to the front bumper. This is almost a MUST to keep the y collector flush while installing the clamp on the turbo.

  4. Can't go wrong with these! 5 Star Review

Posted by on Aug 15th 2017

Needed to change my up-pipes and was gonna go with the non-coated but decided to spring for the ceramic, less heat in the engine bay the better right? Pipes were great quality and fit perfect after getting them in there. No more worries for the next 200,000+ miles!

  5. Perfect in every way 5 Star Review

  6. Up pipes 5 Star Review

Posted by on Jul 22nd 2017

So far customer service has been awesome and parts got here fast. Have yet to install them however just checking over everything they look to be a really nice part and hope to fix my leaking factory ones. Ordered a new collector manifold with hardware at the same time just to eliminate any possible issues down the road. My only complaint is after reading your install directions i see that I'll need new pedistal o-rings however when I emailed asking what all would be needed there was no mention of this. So looks like I'll postpone the install a few more days till they arrive. .

  7. Perfect fit 5 Star Review

    Great product!

  8. As Advertised! 5 Star Review

Posted by on Jul 10th 2017

Very well made with great welds. Everything lines up well. My stock up pipes were leaking causing low boost and quick rising EGT's. I can now get more boost and because I don't have an Intercooler, the EGT's still rise but at a much slower rate. Plus no more worries about leaking. These are not a quick fix but, worth all the effort!!!!

  9. Quality, nothing but amazing quality 5 Star Review

When people ask why buy AMERICAN made, show these! Bends? Amazing, Welds? Perfection, Installation? Fit was perfect, Ford should contact Riffraff to offer these amazing pieces. Why haven't you purchased a set yet?

  10. Good product 5 Star Review

Posted by on May 31st 2017

Awesome product to fix those leaky up-pipes. Relatively easy to install if you follow the included instructions. Don't wimp out on the use of penetrating oil. Much cheaper than the international version, and the pipes looked good and had good welds. Comes with new bolts and gaskets for the collector manifold. Good purchase.
