Excursion cross member must be moved back 1/4" All 7.3 Liter Diesels to 2003 All V10 Gas to 2004 (until 3 valve V10), 2004 Lightning and Vans -- Attention EXCURSION Owner: This application will require some modifications of the transmission cross member. There are many different ideas and each will have it’s merits and difficulties. My suggestion would be to slot the bolt holes on the cross member to allow it to move toward the rear of the truck for clearance. (NOT THE FRAME, but the cross member) The #F4R100 pan will bolt onto the transmission and then you will see how long you will need to make the slots. Some others have cut a relief in the cross member (Not my favorite idea.) Also some have ground the fins down on the pans, and cut the cross member, this is not the worst idea but again whatever will work should be looked at. This will be a project requiring tools and skills that are advanced.

Easy install. Tranny runs much better and doesn’t get as hot when towing.

    Trans pan

Posted by Kelly on Jun 5th 2021

Delivery was fast even though it was not in stock, way to go Clay. Install was straight forward and the higher capacity seems to have helped drop temps about 10 degrees on a trip to my sisters on a hot day. I would buy again.

Good old fashioned engineering at its best

Posted by Geoff Maisey on Jun 4th 2021

Great product very well built with clear precise instructions. The Truck this is going on does a lot of bush miles down here in Australia and the extra oil in the tranny helps big time. Thank you. Riffraf are second to none for customer service and help Thank you team.

    MAG-HYTEC DEEP TRANNY PAN

Posted by Erik Frates on Nov 23rd 2019

Great product. Fantastic quality. Says what it does, does what it says... Very well. Lowered my EGTs about 200 degrees (steady average), most notably when pulling in LA traffic. I’d definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to help the performance/ longevity of their 4R100.

    Deeeep trans pan

Posted by 97 Crew Powerstroke on Oct 14th 2019

First off, Looks great. Had a shifting issue with my transmission, added this pan, new filter and synthetic fluid and shifting much better. May have also worked with a regular pan but this one gives me a better piece of mind when towing 10,000+ lbs.

    Heavy Duty!

Posted by Ray Schork on Jun 17th 2019

Wow is this heavy and quality USA made! Acts as a heat sink to absorb heat from the fluid. The 2 front center and 2 back get the short bolts. Diagram shows one on the side getting a short bolt but I had another on the other side requiring a short bolt. Be sure to check the thread embedment. You could have bolts that bottom out and do not seat.
